RUINS
Ruins is a series of pieces reflecting a moment of research I’m still on, they all have the same “unfinished” effect outside, achieved leaving the surface just cut by the hand tools while the wood is still green and not treated further, whereas the inside is highly sanded down to 600 grit. Furthermore they are all made out using various species of oak trees found in my area and they are turned green and let distorting during seasoning.
The Idea is to imitate ancient relics, as they are very seductive, they have the power to preserve and reveal the idea of Time itself. Unfinished is a sort of a limbo between perfection and nothingness, between what I could do and what I will, it’s all up to myself, unfinished speaks my language holding a reflection I don’t want to end, a research I am still on..
