The Volver series reflects a personal period of transition I was on in 2019, I decided to work on damaged material to give it a new life, it started as a challenge against the decay of Time, but also as a way of researching through the potential those pieces still had despite their appearance.

All pieces come out of the same olive woodpile I collected salvaging small logs from an old and dismissed olive yard where the trees were mainly affected by bacteria, fungus, woodworms and have all dead wood parts.

All pieces from this series are hand turned and hollowed out according to what I had in mind from time to time but they all belong to the same reflection on how to save material that would have been considered a waste by giving it new life. The wood resulted full of dead parts, elsewhere rotten and affected by fungus and bacteria, so that I chose to save only burls and the most interesting parts out of those trees.
